CALIFORNIA NOTARY EXAM
BRING TO THE STATE EXAM
- Your completed State Notary Application
- Your Proof of Completion Certificate (POC)
- Your photo ID used for the POC
- Two sharpened # 2 pencils
- A current 2 X 2 color Passport photo of yourself
- A check, money order or cashier's check for $40 use "Secretary Of State "for the payee.
- Cash will NOT be accepted at the Exam.
- Pencils & Sharpener will NOT be provided
THE NOTARY PUBLIC HANDBOOK
The State Notary Exam is based on the California Notary Public Handbook (which is published by the Secretary of State).
**STUDY THE HANDBOOK BEFORE THE EXAM**
The Notary Exam consists of 45 multiple choice questions in which you have 60 minutes to complete and receive a minimum score of 70% to pass.
